Confirmation

If you were baptised as an infant, your parents or guardian and Godparents will have made promises on your behalf. Confirmation is your opportunity to affirm, of your own free will, your faith in God.

The Confirmation Service is always led by a Bishop and usually involves a group of confirmation candidates. During the service you will be called to the altar, the Bishop will say your name and anoint you by making a sign of the cross on your forehead with Holy Oil.

Preparation for confirmation involves some classes or meetings with your priest, where subjects like faith, the sacraments, and how to lead a Christian life, are discussed.

There is no cost for confirmation. If you are thinking about being confirmed, please get in touch with Fr David.
