Joan Viskant & Nils Solberg

Saturday, May 19th 7:30 – 9:30

A tribute to the jazz legends: Ella Fitzgerald, Fats Waller, Billie Holiday, Nat King Cole, Peggy Lee, Django Rheinhardt…

Joan Viskant, a jazz singer very much in demand all over the country, was born in Chicago and played the Parisian Clubs before settling in London. She was described by Woolf Phillips – Frank Sinatra’s MD – as ‘the best female singer I have heard in 30 years’.

Nils Solberg, a virtuosic guitarist with a background in gypsy jazz, has worked with Clare Teal, Nigel Kennedy and Bryan Ferry (to name but three of the many performers who prize this master of acoustic swing).

“Viskant caresses a lyric like a reunited lover.”
Richard Niles, BBC Radio 2

”Making the big band album with Joan Viskant was one of the highlights of my recording career.”

John Altman
